FAQs

  • Here at Clarity, my goal as a therapist is to meet you exactly where you are — no expectations, no pressure. Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or just unsure of what’s next, I’m here to walk alongside you as we figure it out together.

In therapy, we’ll focus on what matters most to you using an eclectic and genuine approach. This is your journey, and I’m here to support you at your pace, in a way that feels authentic and meaningful to you.

My most commonly used modalities are:

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): This aspect focuses on helping clients identify and challenge unhelpful thoughts and beliefs. Through techniques such as cognitive restructuring, the therapist assists the client in recognizing negative thought patterns, replacing them with more balanced, realistic thinking, and changing behaviors that contribute to distress.

Person-Centered Therapy: Rooted in Carl Rogers' humanistic approach, this therapy emphasizes the importance of creating a non-judgmental, empathetic environment where clients feel safe and supported. The therapist practices unconditional positive regard, active listening, and empathy, allowing the client to explore their thoughts and emotions freely, which promotes personal growth and self-awareness.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): In ACT, the emphasis is on accepting difficult emotions and thoughts rather than fighting them. Clients are encouraged to embrace their experiences while committing to actions that align with their values. Mindfulness techniques are often integrated to help clients stay present and reduce the struggle against uncomfortable feelings, promoting psychological flexibility.

Other Approaches: Depending on the client's needs, additional techniques from different therapeutic models may be incorporated. These could include Psychodynamic Therapy for exploring past experiences and unconscious processes, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) for goal-oriented change, or Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) for reducing stress through mindfulness practices.

This eclectic approach is collaborative, meaning that the therapist works closely with the client to select and apply the methods that best support their unique challenges, whether they involve anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, or other concerns. The overall goal is to provide a personalized therapeutic experience that encourages self-discovery, cognitive and emotional change, and meaningful progress.

  • Taking the step to start therapy can feel scary — I get it. Maybe you’re worried about opening up, unsure if it will help, or just nervous about what to expect. That’s totally normal.

Here’s the thing: therapy isn’t about being perfect or having all the answers. It’s a space to be yourself, however messy or unsure that feels right now. My job is to listen, support you, and help you make sense of what’s going on, one step at a time.

You don’t have to have it all figured out to start. If you’re ready to try, I’m here to walk with you, no pressure, no judgment, just a safe place to start exploring and healing.

  • I use a platform called Headway to submit insurance claims for sessions. If you have one of the insurances I accept, I will collect your information ahead of our intake session and enter it into the Headway platform. You’ll then receive an email prompting you to set up an account. Any co-pays are charged via Headway. Click here to view my Headway profile!

  • If I don’t accept your insurance and you are paying for therapy out-of-pocket,  I have partnered with Mentaya, a platform that helps clients get money back on out-of-network therapy sessions. To see if you qualify for reimbursement, you can use this link: Check Eligibility

If you qualify, after paying the session fee, Mentaya will file claims and handle the insurance paperwork to make sure you get reimbursed. They charge a 5% fee per claim and have helped people get thousands of dollars back per year. You can sign up using this link:
